The Human Weather Project begins with a simple belief: Earth’s emotional state is expressed through the beings living here. A single response is one perspective. As participation grows, the pulse becomes a richer view of this community—never a verdict on humanity.

Method and privacy
Less collected. More context.
What is stored: the three ratings, submission time, a short visit-source channel label, and only the broad location you choose to share. Location is optional; no GPS permission is requested. Contact messages remain separate from pulse responses.
Visit source: a link may include a short channel label such as “invite.” It describes how a visit arrived, not who a visitor is. Channel counts are available only to the project team; they are not shown in public results or used to single out individuals.
Daily limit: this browser receives a random identifier. Only its one-way hash is stored, allowing the database to enforce one public signal per browser per UTC day without an account. Clearing cookies or changing browsers can bypass this limit, so it reduces repeats but does not prove one unique human.
Living atmosphere: the animated background and public pulse use aggregate ratings only. They do not reveal or respond to an individual visitor's answers. No account, name, fingerprint, or GPS location is required to check in.
Your control: while the browser identifier remains available, you can delete today’s signal from your result screen. Public charts show aggregates, sample sizes, and optional country coverage; they are exploratory community signals, not representative polling or a clinical measure.
